Cross a hand-forged, 30-foot stone bridge spanning the serene Bushkill Creek in Eastern Pennsylvania and enter a world built for storytellers. Set on 55+ secluded acres of sweeping landscapes, dramatic cliffs, and architectural artistry, StoneBridge Oasis Legacy Locations offers a rare and extraordinary destination where creativity takes center stage.
Founded by Dr. Alan Francesca LeSabintino Bess and his wife, Kathryn Victoria Bess, this private cinematic retreat unites natural beauty, timeless architecture, and the grace of majestic animals to serve the film, television, fashion, and luxury branding industries. Every element—tranquil waters, 30-foot cliffside vistas, sunlit meadows, and masterfully constructed buildings—has been curated to inspire visionaries and elevate productions to the extraordinary. The estate’s resident alpacas, llamas, horses, and distinguished mastiffs lend authenticity, warmth, and character to any creative setting, while its secluded location ensures unmatched privacy and exclusivity.
Alan Francesca LeSabintino Bess, M.D.—known by many as Alexus, but most often simply as “Doc”—was born and raised in North Philadelphia, where resilience, grit, and determination shaped his early years. A lifelong learner and achiever, he went on to earn his Medical Degree from Temple University School of Medicine, completing postgraduate training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Over his career, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University, Temple University, and Albert Einstein Medical Center, sharing his expertise with the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Alan Bess built a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in medicine, clinical research, and healthcare leadership. He served 15 years as President and CEO of American Health Care Systems Corporation and held senior executive positions at Novartis, Roche, and Abbott. Recognized as an authority in Drug Safety, Epidemiology, and Health Outcomes Research, he became an FDA-recognized expert, widely published and respected throughout the industry.
Outside of medicine, Doc’s life reflects discipline, creativity, and faith. A decorated martial artist with black belts in both Tae Kwon Do and Chinese Kempo, he amassed a competitive record of 52 wins and 4 losses, later teaching martial arts and self-defense for over 35 years. He is also a lifelong musician, collector of luxury cars and trucks, farmer, and lover of animals—training mastiffs, raising llamas and alpacas, and creating StoneBridge Oasis Cinema, a world-class filming and production venue on his estate.
In 2023, Doc suffered a serious medical emergency that profoundly altered his daily life. Once devoted to weightlifting, martial arts, and running, he now awaits the possibility of new medical breakthroughs and surgical procedures that could restore his ability to return to the disciplines he has always loved. His perseverance in the face of these challenges reflects the same determination and faith that have marked his entire journey.
Faith remains Doc’s cornerstone. As a born-again Evangelical Christian, he serves as an Elder and Worship Team Leader at his church and has founded youth ministries, supported missions, and dedicated himself to service. Together with his wife of nearly 40 years, Kay, their family, and their beloved animals, Doc continues to live a life devoted to God, family, community, and creativity—leaving a legacy defined not only by professional accomplishments, but by faith, love, and resilience.
Kathryn “Kay” Bess was born and raised in Montclair, New Jersey, where her upbringing in both the Greek Orthodox and Roman Catholic traditions nurtured a deep, lifelong devotion to the Lord.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware and a Master’s in Health Systems Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Kay began her career in critical care, working in hospital ICUs and Emergency Departments, before transitioning into biopharmaceutical research and development. Over the next 35 years, she distinguished herself in Drug Safety and Epidemiology, rising to become Director of Drug Safety Operations for the Americas at Hoffmann-La Roche and serving as a spokesperson for several products.
After two decades at Roche, she founded and successfully led Drug Safety Law, LLC, a pharmacovigilance and risk-management firm, which she later sold.
Together with her husband, Alan L. Bess, Kay began a new chapter in Pennsylvania, establishing the StoneBridge Llama & Alpaca Ranch and expanding their vision into StoneBridge Oasis Cinema, a premier private estate and film-location venue in the Lehigh Valley. Today, she oversees operations with the same clinical precision, executive discipline, and sincere care that have defined her entire career.
Faith and family remain at the heart of her life. Active in her church and women’s Bible studies, Kay treasures time with their son James, daughter-in-law Julie, and three grandchildren. Whether welcoming production teams, coordinating ranch routines, or mentoring others, she is known for her calm leadership, excellence in the details, and unwavering devotion to the Lord.
